Note: NEW Stipend levels for Doctoral and Postdoctoral awards.

What is the CCHCSP?

The Canadian Child Health Clinician Scientist Program (CCHCSP) provides support for highly qualified child health clinician candidates to develop their requisite knowledge and skills for a career as an independent scientist in child health research. Trainees engage in research training and a core curriculum in one of the participating Child Health Research Training Centres of the CCHCSP.

Research training is supervised by a research mentor and advisory committee and structured to facilitate excellence in research with an interdisciplinary focus.

Five types of awards are offered:

Predoctoral, Postdoctoral, Career Development, and two non-salary awards:  Career Enhancement Program and Rising Researcher Support Program Awards.

You must complete your award at a CCHCSP Partner Centre. Career Development applicants must have a faculty position at a CCHCSP Partner Centre.

For more information, program guidelines, and application procedures, please see "Training Paths"

Next competition: April 1, 2010.

Please note: Some CCHCSP Partner Centres have internal review deadlines prior to the National CCHCSP Competition dates. Potential applicants are strongly advised to contact their Centre Leader two months in advance of the competition deadline dates stating their intent to apply.

Competition 15:
April 1, 2010: Check with your Centre Leader for eligibility and centre-specific deadlines!

Please note:  Competition dates are April 1 and November 1 each year.  Please be sure to check with your Centre Leader for eligibility and further instruction.
