Supervisor(s): Dr. Astrid Guttman / Dr. Lilllian Sung
Dr. Sumit Gupta completed his medical school at the University of Toronto, and went on to train as a pediatric resident and then a pediatric hematology/oncology fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He's excited to be pursing a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology through the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, and to be joining the CCHCSP family! His thesis revolves around the use of population-based health administrative data to explore health care utilization in pediatric oncology patients, as well as the effect of socioeconomic status upon outcome in this population. His other research interests include optimizing outcomes for children with cancer in low-income countries. In his occasional free time, he can be found climbing, playing poker with friends or backpacking through (yet another) country.
