Project: Evaluation of a Knowledge Translation Model for Pediatric Emergency Care Practitioners.
Janet completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has practiced nursing in a variety of acute care settings and taught in the Post RN Programs at both Memorial University and Dalhousie University. Janet joined the IWK Health Centre in September 1998 as a Professional Development Coordinator with Emergency/Critical Care. She has developed expertise in technology applications and knowledge sharing models to support clinical practice in Pediatric Emergency Care and has led to two funded studies, several publications, and national and international presentations.
Janet completed her doctoral work in the Interdisciplinary Studies PhD program at Dalhousie University under the supervision of Dr. Patrick McGrath. Her research leveraged knowledge gained in previous studies and will focused on developing a knowledge translation model to support Pediatric Emergency Care in rural and urban Emergency Departments.
Dr. Curran is now completing Postdoctoral studies at the University of Ottawa/Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, supported by a CIHR Postdoctoral fellowship.
