Biography

Dr. Keith Ooi completed his MD (MBBS) and was awarded the Clara Myers Prize in Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2000. During his paediatric residency, he obtained a Diploma in Paediatrics at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He was admitted to Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Pediatric Gastroenterology following clinical fellowships at Sydney Children’s Hospital (Australia) and The Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto, Canada). Dr. Ooi moved to Toronto to pursue my interest in cystic fibrosis (CF) research. Currently, his research fellowship is supported by the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Fellowship. Keith’s areas of interests include issues in CF diagnosis and understanding the wide spectrum of CF phenotype in newborn-screened infants and adults. In addition, he is currently studying the genotype and phenotype correlations, and role of gene modifiers in individuals with CF gene mutations and pancreatitis.
