Project: Modeling heterotypic trajectories among children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder
A native of Nova Scotia, Khrista completed BSc (Biology and Psychology) and MD degrees at Dalhousie University. She obtained an FRCPC designation in Psychiatry in 2004, and is currently completing clinical fellowship requirements in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at McMaster University. Khrista is pursuing a PhD in the Health Research Methodology Program at McMaster University.
Her past research has focused on phenomenology and comorbidity of psychiatric disorders, as well as the evaluation of Canadian residency training in Psychiatry. Khrista has served in several leadership roles during residency in several mental health professional and advocacy organizations and is concerned with promoting research training experiences for child psychiatry trainees. Her doctoral studies will involve the specification of the phenomenology and course of oppositional defiant symptoms in children who may be at risk for various mental health outcomes, particularly depression and bipolar affective disorder. She will utilize longitudinal and multi-level modeling methods for this purpose.
Dr. Boylan is currently completing her doctoral studies, and has received a faculty appointment at McMaster University.
