Project: Determining the impact of the implementation of a provincial asthma action plan for children with asthma and their families: A mixed methods approach.
Heather Sharpe is a PhD Candidate at the University of Calgary with a research interest in pediatric asthma Her research interest includes patient education and behavior change as it relates to self-management behaviors in children with asthma and their families. Heather completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta and received a National Health Research Development Program Fellowship (NHRDP) to pursue a Master’s in Nursing degree, also at the University of Alberta. Her work experience includes several years at the Alberta Asthma Centre, and more recently, serving as a Research Associate and Project Manager of the Alberta Strategy to Help Manage Asthma and COPD (ASTHMA C), a patient health management program with the aim of improving outcomes for Albertans with asthma and their families. Heather's work focuses on identifying strategies to assist with the implementation of written asthma action plans for children with asthma and their families.
