Biography

Eric Benchimol was born in Montreal and raised in Montreal and Toronto.  He attended university at York University and medical school at the University of Western Ontario.  He completed his paediatrics training was at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (2002-2005) and his clinical training in paediatric gastroenterology at the Hospital for Sick Children (2005-2006).  Eric also completed a research fellowship in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at the Hospital for Sick Children.  Eric received a PhD in clinical epidemiology at the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Upon completion of his PhD, Dr. Benchimol was recruited to a faculty position at the University of Ottawa/Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
